a. Check the internet connection from the modem. If there is no internet, contact your ISP
b. Check the power source on which you plan on plugging in the router, if the power source is unreliable, the connection will be as well
c. Ensure that the ethernet cable plugged into the router from the modem has a sufficient bandwidth, use a gigabit ethernet cable
d. Unplug the cable modem from the power for about 5 minutes before starting the setup
