Storage Controller Driver Root\spaceport

Right click onto the Controller and choose the 'Update Driver Software' option. Then choose 'Search for Driver Software on my Computer' > 'Let me pick.' Hit the 'Have Disk' button and browse to the suitable AMD RAID driver files. Double click onto the correct *.inf file and force the installation of the related RAID driver.: 6. Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Have two HP Envy 15 x 360 PC 64-bit laptops. On both computers we find an “Unknown device” under “Other devices” in Device Manager. We Uninstall it, but eventually it returns. Under Properties:

General tab: “The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.” However, it fails to find a driver.

Details tab: Has different “Value” entries, depending on the “Property” selected.

Sample posting to the Events tab/Information section: “Driver Management concluded the process to install driver nettap60.inf_amd64_bec9f85489d74657nettap60.inf for Device Instance ID ROOTNET0000 with the following status: 0x0.”

The hardware Id Value is rootNetTap6

Any idea what this unknown driver is?

Thank you.

Hello,

In device manager right click on the driver, select properties, then select the details tab. Change the property to Hardware IDs. Copy and paste the first ID in the value box here.

please follow these steps:
1. In the Run box type devmgmt.msc.
2. Unknown devices would be listed as such and marked out with a yellow question mark.
3. Select the unknown device or other device for which you need drivers and right click to access Properties.
4. In the Properties window click on Details tab and select Device Instance Id or Hardware ID from the drop down.
5. An alphanumeric string like this PCIVEN_1217&DEV_7130&SUBSYS_012F1025&REV_014&6B16D5B&0&33F0 is the identification marker for the device.
6. Please provide this number so that we can suggest the appropriate driver.

Hi Vidya,

The Hardware Id Value is: rootNetTap6

I don't see a Device Instance Id Property but there is a 'Device instance path' Property with a value of ROOTNET0000

Also, there is a 'Reported device Ids hash' Property with a Value of 5DB92656.

line29,

Storage Controller Driver Root Spaceport System

Did you update the BIOS to most current version prior to upgrading? Also have you tried updating your latest Ethernet/Network Drivers from the HP drivers page?

Hi Phil_N

No. We assume HP Support Assistant / Settings /”Install important and recommended updates automatically when possible” and associated HP updates and messages scheduler is keeping drivers sets and BIOS current?
