Found a Very Effective Fix for the Rock Candy Controller Troubles, Built Into Windows!
I reset my OS recently and had trouble getting the driver to install for the Rock Candy controller to play Rocket League. I went online and nothing I found seemed to work. So I messed around a bit myself and figured it out:
Plug in controller
Open Device Manager
Find the controller (should have the little yellow sign) and right-click -> update driver software
Browse my computer for local files -> let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
Scroll down and select the 'Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class'
From there select the 'Microsoft Controller for Windows'
Select yes (some error pops up)
Once it installs your controller should light up and all should be good.
If the 'Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class' is not there:
Unplug controller and download it from the Microsoft Website.
Restart if necessary then plug in the controller
Follow the steps above.

P.S. sorry if this seems awkward, I don't post much on reddit. I didn't see this solution anywhere online when I searched so I thought it'd be appropriate to post here. This worked for both my Windows 7 desktop and my Windows 10 laptop, glhf Windows 8!

On Bluetooth-supported controllers, the plastic around the Xbox button is part of the face of the controller. On controllers without Bluetooth, the plastic around the Xbox button is part of the top, where the bumpers are.
